Each piece is handcrafted out of red earthenware clay. All of my pottery is lead free and food safe. It has been tested in the microwave, dish washer, and oven! My redware is fully functional, and looking for a new home.
Each piece of my terra cotta pottery was made by using traditional handbuilding methods, slabs, thrown on a pottery wheel, or a combination of methods are used. Then the pottery is decorated with a white slip, and raised, colored slips.T he raised, colored slips give the pottery added color and texture. I also draw back through my white slip to reveal the red clay beneath to add accents and interest. The Pottery is then decorated with glazes and slips that I mix myself. This assures that I know exactly what is going into the glazes.
Handmade pottery is a fun way to decorate one's home, makes a great gift, or is a nice treat when you are enjoying a meal!
